Collaborative counseling and clinical supervision designed to help you reflect, grow, and move forward with clarity.
Thoughtful, collaborative supervision to support your growth, confidence, and development as a counselor.
Choosing a clinical supervisor is an important step in your development as a professional counselor. The right fit can shape not only your skills, but also your confidence and professional identity. I have been a Texas Board-approved supervisor since 2005 and have had the privilege of supervising many Associates, learning a great deal from them along the way.
In addition, I have maintained a private practice since 2003 and have been a university professor in counseling for over 18+ years.
My approach to supervision is best described as collaborative, supportive, and grounded in open dialogue. We will spend time exploring both your clients’ experiences and your own reactions. Along the way, we will focus on building your practical skills, strengthening clinical judgment, and developing your confidence as a professional counselor.
I aim to create opportunities for you to feel comfortable asking questions, reflecting honestly, and growing professionally. The foundation of my supervision is influenced by Person-Centered, Existential, and Narrative therapies, as well as mindfulness-based approaches. However, my primary focus is the supervisory relationship and tailoring the experience to meet your individual needs.
As you consider your options, I encourage you to meet with potential supervisors to ensure a good fit. You should feel at ease while also having confidence in their clinical and supervisory skills. Supervision often has a profound impact on your development as a professional counselor, so finding the right match is worth the effort.
Wishing you the very best as you begin this meaningful and rewarding career.
